blood and the Sabbath and 5 00:00:49.070 --> 00:00:52.870 what that means to us today. 6 00:00:54.070 --> 00:01:05.010 In order to come to that, we need to do a little bit of a dive into the calendar of 7 00:01:05.010 --> 00:01:05.270 God. 8 00:01:05.770 --> 00:01:13.010 So first I'm going to talk about the calendar, just briefly, but some of the important parts, 9 00:01:13.010 --> 00:01:23.290 and then we will look more at how that relates to the blood and to the Sabbath, connecting 10 00:01:23.290 --> 00:01:24.590 those things together. 11 00:01:25.990 --> 00:01:33.270 So first of all, we are familiar with what is known as the Gregorian calendar. 12 00:01:33.890 --> 00:01:41.270 The Gregorian calendar is a solar calendar, it means every year on the Gregorian calendar 13 00:01:41.270 --> 00:01:46.210 we come back and the sun is in the same place as it was the year prior. 14 00:01:47.290 --> 00:01:57.230 But the Bible calendar is not strictly a solar calendar, but a lunar calendar, with some 15 00:01:57.230 --> 00:02:02.230 influence from the sun as well, we will talk about that in a little bit. 16 00:02:03.730 --> 00:02:14.170 But there is a great deal of confusion, honestly, surrounding everything relating to any Hebrew 17 00:02:14.170 --> 00:02:21.110 or biblical calendar, because there's so many different possibilities and ideas that people 18 00:02:21.110 --> 00:02:23.610 have for how these things are defined. 19 00:02:26.190 --> 00:02:33.010 Unfortunately, many of them, or most of them, are lacking a truly biblical foundation. 20 00:02:34.530 --> 00:02:43.290 There aren't, in certain cases, a lot of details given in the Bible about the calendar, and 21 00:02:43.290 --> 00:02:52.090 that leaves many people to feel free to read into the Bible their own ideas, instead 22 00:02:52.090 --> 00:03:03.190 of extracting from the Bible what the information is that is there, giving understanding of the calendar. 23 00:03:05.070 --> 00:03:13.910 So looking at Exodus chapter 12, this is where the children of Israel were just about to come 24 00:03:13.910 --> 00:03:15.010 out of Egypt. 25 00:03:16.150 --> 00:03:27.230 The plagues had fallen, they're ready to leave, and then the Lord speaks to Moses and Aaron 26 00:03:27.230 --> 00:03:33.310 in the land of Egypt, saying, this month shall be unto you the beginning of months. 27 00:03:33.930 --> 00:03:36.830 It shall be the first month of the year to you. 28 00:03:37.490 --> 00:03:40.430 So God is giving his people a calendar. 29 00:03:41.150 --> 00:03:48.710 They didn't have, or if they had one, they lost it from before, so they had been in slavery 30 00:03:48.710 --> 00:03:50.050 for hundreds of years. 31 00:03:50.470 --> 00:03:56.390 Now he's giving them anew the calendar, and he says, this month. 32 00:03:57.050 --> 00:04:04.230 Now if I ask you, what is this month, you'll say, well, it's April. 33 00:04:05.230 --> 00:04:07.430 You don't need any reference for that. 34 be crucified. 67 00:07:30.020 --> 00:07:34.080 I'm not going to go into a lot of detail about this prophecy. 68 00:07:34.260 --> 00:07:39.940 It's a rather complicated and difficult prophecy in some respects. 69 00:07:40.540 --> 00:07:43.860 But I'm just going to draw a few key points from it. 70 00:07:44.460 --> 00:07:49.280 It comes from Daniel chapter 9, verse 25 to 27. 71 00:07:49.820 --> 00:10:37.520 --> 00:10:46.480 But the question is, what decree is it talking about to restore and rebuild Jerusalem? 107 00:10:46.540 --> 00:10:47.800 Because there were more than one. 108 But in particular, I'm just doing an overview here, so I'm not going to go over the details, 113 00:11:15.340 --> 00:11:30.400 but historically, in 457 BC, King Artaxerxes of Persia gave the command that is the relevant 114 00:11:30.400 --> 00:11:43.380 one, and when we calculate the 69 weeks, of course these are weeks of years in this prophecy, 115 00:11:44.200 --> 00:11:53.040 then that's 483 years, and that comes to the year 27 AD. 116 00:11:54.760 --> 00:11:56.620 And what was significant about that year? 117 00:11:58.100 --> 00:12:05.140 The prophecy said that was the time when Messiah the Prince would come, and indeed, this was 118 00:12:05.140 --> 00:12:07.600 the year when he began his ministry. 119 00:12:08.500 --> 00:12:11.620 But it was the beginning of that 70th week. 120 00:12:11.620 --> 00:12:19.920 In the middle of that 70th week, that would be after three and a half years from AD 27, 121 00:12:21.260 --> 00:12:30.400 that would be in the year AD 31, that would be when Jesus was crucified. 122 00:12:30.930 --> 00:12:42.060 So what we have is a biblical foundation that gives us the year through understanding 123 00:12:42.060 --> 00:12:48.280 the prophecy when
